“But there are times where a critic truly risks something, and that is in the discovery and defense of the new. Word is often unkind to new talent, new creations - the new needs friends. Last night, I experienced something new, an extraordinary meal from a singularly unexpected source. To say that both the meal and its maker challenge my preconceptions about fine cooking is a gross understatement. They have rocked me to my core. In the past, I have made no secret of my distain for Chef Gusteau’s famous motto - “Anyone can cook”. But I realize now do I truly understand what he meant: Not everyone can become a great artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere.”
- Anton Ego, Ratatouille.
This is why I love Pixar.
Oh I love this movie so much… I should watch this with my best friend when I end up owning my bakery for real and we go to Paris together ;)
I’ve always thought of Rataouille to be one of the more meaningful and entertaining animated movies out there. I absolutely love the story, the setting, the topic (cooking <3), and also the fact that the voice of Remy (Patton Oswalt) is a graduate of LCPS (Broadrun HS to be exact). Another fun fact: he did forensics in high school too.
I can’t wait for the day when the bakery opens… it’s got to be outside of Paris, or France, for that matter. There are just too much competition in the bakery department there.
Case in point:

Ladurée would kill our business. Better set up the bakery in UAE … or China, perhaps. :)
